Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you'll receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your obligations for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Neath, drivers must be at least 21 years old. Age requirements may differ based on the vehicle type, and drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Neath office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally payable upon collecting the vehicle. All charges are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment channels.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, aside from normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level it had at pickup; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if a delay is anticipated. You will also be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or related charges that occur during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance coverage. Full details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lessen your financial liability. It's advisable to review these options closely. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you opt for extended coverage. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, irrespective of any insurance policies.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Use of Vehicle
- The vehicle may not be used for any illegal activities. Activities such as racing, off-roading, or other dangerous uses are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must only be used for its intended purposes and within specified passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside designated geographical areas without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Neath will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the rental amount paid in the previous year. This limitation does not apply to cases of death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms fall under the jurisdiction of English and Welsh law. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in English and Welsh courts.
